Local food banks make a huge difference to families living below the bread line – in the literal sense – as they cannot afford to buy food. We hear many, many stories of people struggling to eat properly, and are often reluctant to ask for help, but eventually are referred to local food banks to provide food for the next few days.
However, when there is a baby in the family, it’s even harder. Often, food banks don’t have nappies and baby formula stored away, and they can only give what they have. In that situation, we step in and help by providing a Baby Pack – a large box of nappies, several packs of wet wipes and formula milk. These are given to the Food Bank to give out to families in need along with their food parcel.
But we need your help!
£20 purchases a single Baby Pack and keeps a baby going for several days, and sometimes up to a week or so. (It varies according to the age of the baby, of course, what weight they are, what food they need, and so on.)
If you are unable to buy a whole pack, why not join us by giving regularly – you can give just £1 a week, and join all those people who are making a real difference in people’s lives, and in the community you live. Or alternatively, you can help our Baby Pack CrowdFunding appeal to raise enough money to provide packs to 25 families.
